What we doDesign and Technologies is an area of the curriculum that applies the Design Process, and uses tools and materials (with new technological knowledge) to create products, services and environments. DATTA Vic represents Design and Technologies Teachers (including Systems Engineering, STEM, Textiles, Electronics, Auto & Primary teachers) in education throughout Victoria. Since our humble beginnings as a group of like-minded teachers of Technology we have grown to become a registered charity with a membership of 2500 educators. The DATTA Vic committee consists of volunteer members and three part-time paid office staff. We hold annual conferences, facilitate various Professional Learning workshops and create resources throughout the year. Our aim is to support excellence in the teaching of P-10 Design & Technologies and the associated VCE subjects Product Design & Technologies and Systems Engineering. We work to grow engagement in the subject area and attract a diverse group of students who will be the problem solvers of the future. We also promote education in the wider community. Our mission |
DATTA Vic is a registered charity that was formed in October 1987. Our mission is to advance education in the Australian community, with a particular focus on Design & Technologies teaching in Victoria. As well as supporting teachers, we produce events and resources for the wider community to engage them in Design & Technologies education. We work with a wide range of partners to make this happen. |
