CONFERENCE KEYNOTE
We're delighted to announce our keynote presenter for 2025 - Systems Engineer and satellite designer Robert Mearns of Melbourne Space Lab.
Melbourne Space Lab develops technological solutions to nanosatellites. It is a leader in nanosatellite research and development in Australia, with a focus on scientific investigation and commercial opportunities.

Rob has worked on a range of space technologies projects, including Skyhopper, a pioneering cubesat space telescope designed to find the origins of the universe, and the SpIRIT (Space Industry – Responsive – Intelligent – Thermal) nano-satellite, an Australia-Italy mission supported by the Australian Space Agency.
In his keynote, Rob will explore his role in spacecraft design with Melbourne Space Lab, chart his own journey into engineering and explore the roles of designers and engineers in Australia's ventures into space exploration.
