This program is intended to build practical Design & Technologies skills in students of the RMIT Masters of Teaching Practice (Secondary Education)

There will be a focus on developing experience in using hand-tools and some essential woodwork machinery as well as in emerging technologies - all in the context of the Victorian Years 7-10 Design & Technologies curriculum.

Participants will also have to chance to focus on OH&S issues and classroom management, and will be introduced to relevant Department of Education policies and procedures.

This will assist students on their placements and help prepare them for their first teaching roles.

The timetable is as follows, although note there may be changes made to accommodate specific needs;

• Week 1 : OH&S Risk Assessments 
• Week 2 : Hand Tools and Materials
• Week 3 : Power Tools and Student Machines
• Week 4 : 3D printing and CNC machine 
• Week 5 : Restricted Machinery tbc
