Looking for a School Technician with Skills in Emerging & Traditional Technologies and the Design Process?

DATTA Vic's Industrial Design Students as Technicians program aims to connect schools that would like to improve the safety and quality of their Design and Technologies / STEAM education with young industrial designers and offer innovative approaches to staffing.

Join us at this after-school session on the 12th October at RMIT to launch our 2026 program.  You'll hear from school faculty leaders and technicians about their experiences of working together, and meet Bachelor of Industrial Design students to register their interest in working within a Design & Technologies faculty to support the teacher and the students.

Schools will be able to sign up if they'd be interested in hiring an I.D students on a part-time basis as a Technician.

You'll have a member of staff with skills in traditional and emerging technologies, knowledge of implementing the design process, who is an amazing role model for the students in your class.
