Technacy is the ability to understand, skillfully apply and communicate creative and appropriate technological solutions that are based on understanding the contextual factors involved.

In the newly implemented VCE Product Design & Technologies senior subject, Working Technologically and Technacy is included as one of the key cross-study specifications. Essentially our students must not only have skills in the use of a range of technologies, but also an understanding of the cultural influences that affect how, when and why they are used.

DATTA Vic and Banyule Nillumbik Tech School are teaming up to deliver a series of five essential Technacy skills immersions for teachers – all free for our members and BNTS partner schools thanks to support from the Google Educator Professional Development Grant. Teachers can choose to come to one or all of the sessions.
