60,000 Years of Australian Design & Technologies took place on the 12th & 13th of May at Harvester Technical College in Sunshine. We explored the past, present and future of this country's rich and innovative contribution to the field of design and technology. From Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage to the latest in STEM educational developments, this event supported primary and secondary teachers throughout Victoria.
The conference included;
- Keynote presentations from Jefa Greenaway and Dr Samantha Edwards-Vandenhoek of Swinburne University's Marngo Designing Futures program
Discussions on how to deliver the cross-curricular priority of Learning About Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island Histories and Cultures within the Design & Technologies curriculum Learning traditional and new skills which can be used within the D&T classroom Exploring how we can prepare our ATSI students for future study and careers in Design and Engineering Talking about best practice in teaching STEaM and working with new technologies
Participating in sessions on the new F-10 Technologies curriculum
Networking with colleagues from throughout the country
