SYTYCD is a growing student design event that demonstrates the strength of design teaching in Australian secondary schools.
There are 2 competitions each year - one for w/m/p students, and one for textiles students.

SYTYCD - 2017
For the first time in SYTYCD's history, the competition will now run as a national event, which will take place during Design & Technology Week (16-22 October).
DATTA Australia is inviting schools throughout the country to participate in So You Think You Can Design - the student competition that demonstrates the creative, innovative and challenging work taking place in the Design & Technologies learning area.
This year, your students will have a design challenge to complete in school during D&T Week from the 16th - 22nd October. The brief is simple –
To design a product that attempts to solve a
personal, local or global problem.
The output is a digital poster (A2), along with an optional CAD model suitable for printing.
Submit your best student's work (only one poster & CAD model) to Hannah at email@example.com by Monday 23rd October. A panel of teachers from throughout the country will select finalists from each state, and their work will be shown at the DATTA Vic Makerspace 2017 conference in December.

The overall winner will receive an iPad mini.
